Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
This is not really a travel blog, though it may feel a bit like one. It's really just a journal I hope to keep during what I expect will be a very interesting next year in my life. I don't plan on producing a chronicle of my activities, but on producing my half-baked ideas on random topics, in case I want to go back later and see how stupid I was. I thought if I put the journal on the internet, I'd be more likely not to drop it. We'll see. The last travel journal I wrote got lost, I think somewhere in the Senegal river. I don't particularly expect anyone to read this one, but if you do enjoy it, please feel free to comment.
I am originally from the Boston suburbs, and have spent the last two+ years living in Johannesburg. Over the next year, if all goes well, I plan on spending significant time in South Africa, Brazil, the US, France, and Singapore. Five continents in 12 months, a World Cup, and no job? How could I not try to keep track of what I'm doing?
Also, I think my age (about to turn 27) and the fact that I am not just traveling for the sake of traveling will give this blog a slightly different point of view than many that I have read. I hope so at least. Maybe at some point I'll even stumble upon one or two observations that cannot be described as idiotic drivel. I doubt it though.
